Architectural Concrete
At the end of this section, participants will have an appreciation of the tremendous architectural potential of concrete, new materials and techniques that are emerging, understand the technical issues associated with achieving their goals and be able to describe the fundamentals for good architectural concrete design and specification.
Future release. Sign up today to be notified when available.
Architectural Precast Concrete Fundamentals
This section will describe the manufacturing techniques, surface finishes, applications and creative uses of precast factory made architectural panel systems.
Future release. Sign up today to be notified when available.
Cement and Concrete Fundamentals
At the end of this section, participants will be able to have an appreciation of the complexity of the material that is concrete, and how to recognize when something has gone wrong with use of concrete on a construction site before it is too late.
Future release. Sign up today to be notified when available.
Concrete and Sustainability
At the end of this section, participants will be able to describe the major environmental costs and benefits of using concrete, and have an understanding of the principles that should govern their thinking in using concrete to achieve the most sustainable outcomes.
Future release. Sign up today to be notified when available.
New Ideas and Technologies
At the end of this section, participants will have learned about new innovative concrete applications and technologies: PC-3D Building Information Modeling (BIM), self-cleaning concrete, Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC) that is stronger and thinner, new form liners, concrete tints and stains, see through concrete containing embedded light-conducting fibers.
